Original Size

The original size of the tattoo was 4″ by 3″ at the longest/widest parts. I forgot to mention that in an earlier post. Thanks for the questions! I have another post-op checkup Monday morning and will be posting new pictures and information from that visit.

You are the best! Thank you so much for this info, it gives me hope! My tattoo is a little bigger though. Take care of you and thank you for keeping us in the loop!

Its good to see someone who is going through the same process as I am! However I went on with the laser treatments for even 21 treatments and was left with remaining ink and internal scarring, so not happy at all. You wer smarter to already take the decision for have it cut out much earlier. As already said for me they do it in 2 treatments. I had one treatment on June 18 and the final one will be somewhere in October. However, are they not recommending silicone band-aids to get a nicer/less visible scar? That is what they will do for me after the final treatment. Good luck with the further healing process!

I am so sorry for you but soon you wil be free!
Thank you so much for sharing, I would love to avoid the laser and will do everything I can…I mean it’s insane to make people undergo the laser if at the end they have to have surgery to remove the scar it leaves! How can’t we choose what we want from the beginning? In some cultures, removing a tattoo is as important than getting it…

I’m so glad I found your site! I have two tattoos… one small and one large. I had the smaller excised about 4 weeks ago, and it still looks pretty gross. I am hesitant to get the larger one (same place as yours) done because of the scarring. I can’t wait to see an update!
