Week 6
Well it’s been six weeks since my surgery and things are healing so nicely. Sorry I didn’t post anything during week 5. I’ve started putting Vaseline on my scar in the morning and then the hydroquinone cream at night. Last night was the first night that I used it so we should be noticing a difference in the next couple weeks. There is one spot that the stitches are trying to push their way out but I’m not too concerned with it. I’m excited to be able to put on a bathing suit next summer and feel like I can walk around without trying to cover my back all the time. I will continue to put SPF 50 on it so the scar won’t darken. Here’s what things are starting to look like…

Looking good and healing well, it will take quite some time before it gets lighter (not so red anymore) My first surgery was 3.5 months ago now and now the scar is not so red anymore. When this happens it will be much less visible then it is now. As you already say, when in the sun, do put a sunblock on. Otherwise you will not get a white scar but a brown one…

Could you tell me how big your tattoo was? Your scar looks as though mine might, except for mine is on my ankle…

Hi All
I’m living in Ireland and Tattoo Excision is not a big thing here only 1 surgery in Ireland will do it. I had a tattoo on my right shoulder and got it removed by excision 1 year ago. I have a really big and think scar about 1.5 inch wide and 3 inc long, when people see it the cringe and asked what happened to me but it doesn’t bother me as much as the tottoo did. Can you recommend any creams or any aftercare I could get to improve the scar?
Many Thanks
Angelina

There is still one thing in your surgery that is suprising to me. Your tattoo was larger then mine and mine already was done in stages, so I will have a straight small scar afterwords. Did they not discuss with you to do it in a couple of treatments so the scar would have been smaller and straight? Or was this not an option they gave you?
